Dream Work…My Week In Review

Shew! It was scorchin’ hot in the shop this week! I know I am wierd but I actually really enjoy the heat! It means my day starts earlier {before the kiddos wake up} and I am usually in the house by 1:00! This is my official Summer Time Clock:

Summer Time Clock

I was a very good redeemer of my time this week and managed to knock out three projects I have been dreaming of finishing! Sit back and enjoy the pic heavy post that follows!

First up, a curved front chest that has been begging to be bold!

Chest Before

So…I did just that! I gave the body a good lathering of Benjamin Moore’s Aura Paint with Websters Chalk Paint Powder™. The drawers were bathed in Miss Mustard Seed’s French Enamel…dreamy!!! It was my first time using MMS’s Milk Paint and I fell in love! It went on super smooth and even though I didn’t use the bonding agent, it adhered really well!

Told you it wanted to be BOLD!! Anytime I take a chance on colors, I have a spot in mind for my house. This one was gonna live in my son’s room but it sold! It’s gonna be the perfect addition to a sweet nursery!

I had to much fun working with Miss Mustard Seed’s Milk Paint, I used it on the next dream project too! I fell in love with this chest and it’s beautiful wood grain!

The body had a bit of damage but the drawers were UUUHHMAZING!!

Beautiful Wood Grain

So I left them alone! I used MMS’s Kitchen Scale on the body! It cracked up beautifully! I wanted to soften the color just a bit so I added a wash of Benjamin Moore’s Floral White with a tad more Websters Chalk Paint Powder™. It was perfect!! Well…almost!

The marble piece looked so dingy after the chest was painted!

Marble Makeover Before

I thought about cutting wood to fit but then I realized I already had the perfect fitting slab of marble…I just had to cover it! I grabbed a stack of vintage sheet music and some Matte Hod Podge! LOVE!!!!

I used a little more white wash to create an ombre look on the mirror :)

Crazy in love with this chest!!!

Last, but certainly not least…the oldest piece I’ve ever had in the shop! I found this beauty in a stinky old basement over a year ago. I had it appraised and was shocked at the value! I’m not an antique dealer but I have tried to sell it as is for over a year, no bites! It was of no value to me sitting in the shop so I did the unthinkable and painted it!!

China Cabinet Before

Check out the creepy doors! I’ve never been so excited to paint over anything in all life! These things have given me the evil eye for far too long!

Creepy Furniture Faces

Oh, and the top was pretty jacked too!

Nothing a little Websters Chalk Paint Powder™ and Benjamin Moore can’t handle! I did a custom mix of Floral White and Amulet.
